ELAN-PROTECT® WV 182 Mafel is a single-component, water-dilutable, air-drying, alkyd-based finishing paint. This low-viscosity product features an intense red pigmentation, making it ideal for the protection and final insulation of electromechanical components.

Technical specifications and performance
Despite its water base, the WV 182 paint guarantees high insulation properties:
- dielectric strength: greater than 60 kv/mm (measured at 23°c).
- Salt spray resistance: tested for 240 hours (5% NaCl - 35°C) according to ISO 7253 standards, confirming exceptional anti-corrosion capacity.
- mechanical properties: reaches a surface hardness of 2h (pencil hardness) after 7 days of drying at room temperature.
- Chemical resistance: Excellent resistance to isooctane, transformer oil, toluene and ester fluids.
Tips for use and storage
For optimal results and long-lasting product:
- Drying: Dries to the touch in approximately 30-40 minutes at 23°C. Final properties are achieved after 7 days at room temperature, but the process can be accelerated in the oven (e.g. 1 hour at 80°C).
- dilution: if necessary, the viscosity can be adjusted by adding deionized water.
- Storage: Store strictly between 5°C and 30°C in the original containers. Protect from frost. Shelf life is 12 months if stored correctly.
