EP-84 FR-4 epoxy glass: self-extinguishing insulating sheets

Mafel EP-84 FR-4 epoxy glass is a high-quality, rigid laminated insulation made from a glass fabric base impregnated with epoxy resin. This laminate is designed to provide excellent electrical insulation and high mechanical strength, making it the ideal substrate for machined and stamped components in the electronics industry.

Physical properties and fire resistance

FR-4 sheets are distinguished by their safety and dimensional stability:

• Self-extinguishing: the material is classified V0 according to the UL 94 standard.
• Thermal class: certified in class B (130°C) for continuous operation.
• low water absorption: guarantees stability even in humid conditions, with an absorption of only 22 mg.
• color: natural translucent.

Mechanical and dielectric characteristics

The technical performance of the EP-84 ensures reliability in the most demanding applications:

• mechanical resistance: it has a compressive strength of 520 mpa and a tensile strength of 430 mpa.
• Electrical insulation: the dielectric strength reaches 14.2 kv/mm, with a high tracking resistance (200 v).
