ELAN-PROTECT® UP 142 Mafel is an advanced impregnation system based on unsaturated polyesterimide resin. Formulated to be completely free of solvents, styrene and vinyl toluene, this one-component resin offers a safer working environment and reduced emissions during the thermal curing process.

Technical specifications and performance
ELAN-PROTECT® UP 142 guarantees robust and long-lasting insulation:
- dielectric strength: greater than 110 kv/mm (measured at 23°c).
- viscosity: fluid and penetrating (500-900 mpas at 25°c), optimized to completely saturate the windings.
- Chemical resistance: excellent seal against solvents (xylene, methanol, hexane), transformer oils and acids (hydrochloric, sulfuric, acetic).
- thermal stability: maintains high dielectric strength even at high temperatures (over 80 kV/mm at 155°C).
Polymerization process and storage
Since it is an oven system, it requires a specific heat cycle:
- Curing cycle: The curing time depends on the mass of the component; typical parameters range from 2 to 4 hours at 130-150°C.
- Application methods: Ideal for dipping, dip-roll and spray processes.
- Storage: Store in a cool place (max 25°C) to ensure a shelf life of 6 months. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight and heat sources.
