Cord made of continuous spiral glass threads.
It features high tensile strength and inextensible properties.
It has a wide variety of applications, including:
- Binding for electrical windings and resistors
- Padding and reinforcement of electrical cables between the primary and secondary insulation
Impregnation with synthetic resins makes the cord elastic and simultaneously increases its tensile strength.
This impregnation locks the spiral strands together to form a single body, thus preventing the cord from fraying.
The resin is perfectly compatible with:
- Impregnation paints normally used for the insulation of transformers and electric motors
- Epoxy, polyester and polyurethane resins.
