PT100 probes are RTD (Platinum Resistance Temperature Detectors) sensors compliant with DIN EN 60751, whose resistance varies almost linearly as a function of temperature. These probes can be made with 2 or 3 wires to compensate for measurement errors introduced by the power supply line.
