NOMEX® T410 is the leading electrical insulator in the electromechanical industry. Composed of an aromatic polyamide (aramid), this material offers a perfect balance of dielectric strength, mechanical strength, and thermal stability, ensuring maximum reliability for motors, transformers, and generators.
Properties and thermal class
NOMEX® T410 paper is designed to operate under severe thermal conditions without losing its insulating properties:
- Thermal class H: continuous operating temperature of 180°C (approved up to 220°C according to US Navy standards).
- Extreme temperature resistance: maintains its integrity down to a minimum temperature of -200°C, making it suitable even for cryogenic applications.
- Advanced composition: obtained by combining two forms of the aramid polymer: binding fibrids and flake.
Technical and dielectric characteristics
Thanks to its calendered structure, NOMEX® T410 offers excellent performance in any thickness:
- Breakthrough voltage: ensures high electrical insulation, with average values reaching 34 kV/mm (ASTM D149 test).
- Mechanical strength: high longitudinal tensile strength (up to 816 MPa for 0.76 mm thickness) and elongation at break.
- Certified reliability: UL (Underwriters Laboratories Inc.) DuPont file E34739 approved product

Formats available at Mafel:
- Rolls: standard height 914 mm or cut from 7 mm height.
- Custom work: we create cut, shaped, and die-cut based on customer specifications or drawings.
- Nominal thicknesses: Full range from 0.05 mm (2 mil) to 0.76 mm (30 mil).
- Color: Natural Ivory.
